“First, they take your voice. This is vital so you can’t tell others what is going on.
Then they take your will.
Then finally your soul.”

It's hard to tell a story about things you don't want to remember, things that you don't want to relive. Yet surviving in itself, and being on this side of the past, means there is a story of hope to be shared.

Prisoners in the Shed is the chilling, true story of Bella Hope Shiloh’s journey through the darkness of mind control and exploitation, which ultimately led to being captive in a shed in the woods for 2-1/2 years.

“It is not the strongest who survive. It is the ones who have hope. Because you can break the human mind. You can break the human spirit. But those who have hope - you can’t break them. Their arsenal is far more powerful than you can ever imagine." - BHS

You should write a book, they said. It'll be good, they said.

I was always told I was a writer. But I wasn't a writer - I was an empath. Someone who felt deeply the unseen, but real, things in this world, and tried hard to put those experiences into words. The limitations of language makes that difficult, but we try.

The writing process is merely telling my story - the unbelievable, the enchanting, the crazy, the profound. Stories make a difference. So my goal is to change what I can in my corner of the world - one word at a time.
